Copenhagen’s importance grew in the summer of 2000 with physical linkage to the Swedish city of Malmo, Copenhagen becoming the centre of a larger metropolitan area which spans both nations.

Attractively located on the Eastern shore of the island of Zealand and partly on the island of Amager the city inhabitants number around 1 million people, all of whom are able to enjoy the truly cosmopolitan features of a major city set in a stunning location with a long and fascinating heritage.

Copenhagen has been ranked third European city after London and Paris in attracting corporate headquarters. The city is a hub for technology based companies, especially within pharmaceuticals, chemicals, biotech and IT and telecommunications.
