Description
Communication competency focuses on the importance of the image of the participant and how it can influence success in today’s collaborative environment. This course will cover the entire range of communication, from interpersonal communication to the latest in communication technologies. Importance of Interpersonal Skills The importance of the ability to communicate across levels of seniority and functional role is stressed. Key concepts include different personality types and the languages of power and communication. The participant examines self image as well as improving interpersonal skills. Improving Interpersonal Skills To assist the participant to manage and lead effectively, the course covers, how to respond to difficult people, conflict resolution, negotiating techniques and the importance of networking. Meetings and Written Communication Facility managers are continually called to provide directions, share written information and reports, conduct meetings and many more. Furthermore, they must be able to communicate with professionals from many disciplines. Areas reviewed include all aspects of meetings and business writing. Presentations and Communication Technologies Participants are taken through all steps involved in the development of a presentation, how to present information visually and how to exploit the technology available. There is also the opportunity to develop and deliver different types of presentation.
