Description

Participants are shown how facilities affect the health, safety, performance, comfort, satisfaction, and morale of individual employees as well as the organisation as a whole. Impact of activities on the environment is highlighted. As part of the safety remit competent response during an emergency or disaster is discussed.
Health, Safety, Security, and Quality of Work Life
The basic human and environmental factors, such as temperature, light, sound, air quality, ergonomics, aesthetics and psychosocial dynamics are discussed. Hazard analysis, legal compliance and requirements of safety training are outlined.  .
The Environment, and Organizational Effectiveness
Identification of environmental factors critical to the organization, and development of programs to ensure that a facility is in compliance with laws are reviewed. Due diligence with regard to environmental impact and ensuring building occupants are aware of environmental issues are included.
Emergency Preparedness: Define, Reduce, Prevent and Eliminate the Probability
 Participants are guided in types of emergency, how to conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessment.
Emergency Preparedness: Plan, Prepare, Respond and Recover
The importance of a holistic approach to emergency planning and the ongoing process of testing and monitoring is outlined. Participants are shown how to develop emergency response plans, make the link with required training and review current systems and procedures.
